Plans filed for new office development in Warehouse Arts District; developer hopes to add row house project to area in 2016; update on East Lawrence bistro

It seems demand is increasing for a funky vibe at the office, but, no, that smell that’s coming from the break room fridge doesn’t qualify. Instead, I’m talking about office space in an arts-oriented district. The developer of East Lawrence’s Warehouse Arts District has filed plans to add more offices to the area.

New Four-Story East Lawrence Lofts Building To Have Distinctive Design

The latest multimillion dollar project in East Lawrence is nearly complete, and now it is time to weigh in on its distinctive look.

Work on the 9 Del Lofts affordable housing project is wrapping up at the corner of Ninth and Delaware streets. The project is the latest by a group led by Tony Krsnich, who developed the nearby Poehler Lofts and the Warehouse Arts District.

Plans for East Lawrence Bar/Bistro

Another area that I’m an expert on is food trucks. If you don’t believe me, you could look in the creases of the seat of my F150 pickup and almost certainly find a french fry or two from yesterday’s lunch.

So, I bring you news about a food truck venture we’ve previously reported on. Tony Krsnich, the developer of the popular Warehouse Arts District in East Lawrence, has long had plans to turn the small building near Eighth and Pennsylvania streets into a bistro that serves food from several food trucks that will be just outside the building.

Lawrence Holds 2nd Annual Kansas Food Truck Festival

Following a wildly popular first year, the Food Truck Festival will return to Lawrence’s Warehouse Arts District with even more food and more entertainment. Tickets are available now for the Second Annual Kansas Food Truck Festival, set for 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. May 2. The family-friendly event will benefit Just Food, the Douglas County food bank.
